Cambridge IGCSE First Language English gives the candidates an opportunity to respond with understanding to a rich array of reading texts during the course as a whole. Candidates will use the texts to inform and inspire their own writing, and write in a range of text types for different purposes and audiences. This module provides support to students who require to submit a portfolio of three assignments as below, each of about 500–800 words. The module delivers the process to approach each assignment. In the first assignment, we guide on choosing the right text from magazines or newspapers. Candidates choose facts and develop opinions and/or arguments, analysed, evaluated and integrated into their own views. In the second and third assignment, candidates write a composition on a descriptive title question. In the third assignment, candidates write a composition on a narrative title question.These questions are similar to the questions that appear in paper 2. This module prepares you in the same way for descriptive and narrative as detailed in the module 6 and 7 but showing the progress in three drafts that you need to submit.
- Assignment 1: writing to discuss, argue and/or persuade in response to a text or texts
